Ape Action Africa offers volunteers one to three months of demanding but rewarding work caring for the animals in Cameroon’s Mefou Primate Sanctuary, set in 1000 hectares of tropical rainforest. All volunteers live and work at the forest site, which is home to over 120 chimpanzees, 25 gorillas and a variety of monkeys, including guenons, mangabeys, mandrills and olive baboons. In all, Mefou is home to more than 350 rescued primates.
