Michelle Teh

Michelle is a student at the University of British Columbia, youth speaker and mental health activist. She founded Self Love Warrior Indonesia (@selflovewarrior.id on IG) at the age of 16, a youth-led organization that spreads self-love and mental health awareness in Indonesia through creative programs, educational content and meaningful discussion. As an organization, SLW has grown to more than 30k+ followers and 18 volunteers. In the future, she wants to continue empowering more youths to create change in their own way.

Abigail Limuria

Abigail mostly known as the co-founder of Lalita Project and co-writer and publisher of the book “Lalita: 51 Cerita Perempuan Hebat Indonesia,” along with Grace Kadiman. “Lalita” tells the stories of 51 real amazing Indonesian women from various profession and walks of life. “Lalita” also collaborated with 51 Indonesian illustrators, which illustrated each story with a different interpretation and style. Abigail and Gracepublicize “Lalita” independently, and has sold over 4000 copies all across Indonesia. The Lalita Project community and book has received tremendous support and appreciation from various public figures including Sri Mulyani, Susi Pudjiastuti, Retno Marsudi, Grace Natalie, Butet Manurung, Najwa Shihab, and many more. Abigail is also the co-founder of Moretalk.Id, where she initiates various webinars, talkshows, and workshops during this pandemic. Before publicizing her book, Abigail worked at Jakarta Smart City as part of their documentation team. Abigail holds a Bachelor of Art in Cinema & Media Arts: Media Management from Biola University, Los Angeles, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Aside from Lalita & Moretalk.Id, Abigail spends her time writing, doing watercolor painting, and reading philosophy books.

Gary Bencheghib

Gary Bencheghib is an environmental activist and filmmaker. He founded Make a Change World, a media outlet that uncovers uplifting and inspirational stories on a mission to do good. He is passionate about creating social change through videos and giving a voice to the underrepresented. With his younger brother Sam, he has launched a series of expeditions from kayaking the world’s dirtiest river on plastic bottles kayaks to standing up paddling down New York’s most toxic waterways. In the past 3 years, Gary’s work has been seen by +600 million people.

Melati Wijsen

Melati Wijsen is an 20 year old Indonesian activist and change maker. She has founded Bye Bye Plastic Bags with her younger sister and has been leading the movement driven by youth since 2013. She has also started the people movement One Island One Voice and the social enterprise, Mountain Mamas. Melati has spoken on world stages such as TED and the UN and has also been selected as FORBES top ten most inspiring women in the country. She graduated from high school one year early at the Green School and has since been honored by TIME as part of the annual list of most influential teens in the world along with CNN Heroes Young Wonders and FORBES 30 under 30. Today, Melati is excited about her new youth empowerment project; YOUTHTOPIA, empowering youth through meaningful and short peer to peer programs and providing them the tools they need to be change makers.

Isabel Wijsen

Isabel Wijsen is a 18 year old Dutch-Indonesian activist, she is currently a senior at Green School, Bali.Isabel is the founder of Bye Bye Plastic Bags, which she co-founded in 2013, then age 10, with her older sister Melati, then 12. As of June 23 2019, the official ban of plastic bags, straws and styrofoam has been enforced by the Balinese government which is not only but also thanks to Bye Bye Plastic Bags; campaigning for the past six years. This campaign of saying no to plastic bags ultimately led to the first Indonesian province to make the ban. Bye Bye Plastic Bags is by now a youth driven NGO with 50+ global team in more than 40 countries.
